Oskar Rzazewski is one of the most prominent saxophonists of the young generation, an experienced and versatile artist active on the international stage. He is equally at home in the classical saxophone repertoire, in creating new arrangements and transcriptions, and in the development of new music for the instrument.
He is currently studying at the Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste in Zurich in the Master Specialized Performance- Soloist programme in the saxophone class of Lars Mlekusch after receiving his bachelor and master degree at the Chopin Univeristy of Music in Warsaw in the saxophone class of Paweł Gusnar.
Oskar is a laureate of the highest prizes of multiple music competitions and festivals. His most important achievements consist of III place in Josip Nochta International Saxophone Competition Zagrzeb, I prize in Yamaha Music Europe Foundation Scholarship, I prize in Polish National Saxophone Competition CEA, I prize in Emona Festival Ljubljana, winning the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition, Societe Generale Scholarship, and finalist title of the Young Musician of the Year 2020 Poland.
His work and achievements have been appreciated with support from foundations in Poland and Switzerland, making Oskar a recipient of ZHdK Excellence Scholarship Music 2023, five times Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Lyra Stiftung Scholarship, Eppur si muove Scholarship, Scholarship ,,Young Poland‘‘, Sinfonia Varsovia Scholarship of Franciszek Wybranczyk and Hans-Scheuble Award.
He has collaborated with multiple orchestras in his country and abroad, both as a soloist, and a member of formations such as Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, National Philharmonic Orchestra, NOSPR in Katowice, City Lights Symphony Orchestra, Amber Youth Orchestra, Swietokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra in Kielce and Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw.
Oskar is an active artist performing as a soloist, as well as a chamber musician, playing concerts and recording albums with formations such as the Nemesis Saxophone Quartet, Zurich Saxophone Collective and Warsaw Saxophone Orchestra.
